Trump’s sending troops to occupy cities with Black mayors is a new stage in the MAGA blitzkrieg. Indeed, D.C., Chicago and the threats against Chicago’s Mayor Johnson are just the beginning. In fact, the troop deployment represents a new stage in an overall attack on democracy in the country as a whole, including the Social Safety net. In this regard, African Americans will be among the most severely impacted by the cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other benefits. What is to be done?
