John,
Donald Trump has done plenty to make our country less safe, less efficient, and less free. But handing the keys to our public health system to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may be the most dangerous move of his entire presidency.
With Trump’s blessing, he’s running the CDC into the ground -- firing career experts, gutting vaccine research, and spreading reckless misinformation that will, make no mistake, kill people.
But while Trump and RFK Jr. wreak havoc in DC, Republicans in Texas are attempting to redraw our congressional maps and effectively erase my district. They know if they can draw me out of Congress, it’s one less voice standing up to their chaos and one less vote protecting science, freedom, and democracy.
We’re up against the most corrupt political machine in U.S. history and an August end-of-month fundraising deadline tomorrow night. What we raise will determine whether we have the resources to fight back against both gerrymandering here in Texas and the dangerous agenda Trump is pushing nationwide.
Can you chip in whatever you can before the deadline to help me keep fighting for Texans and protect our democracy? [[link removed]]

Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, I used to dream about opportunities that would allow me a chance to experience things that filled my imagination; about American heroes and fascinating places in our country. I dreamed that I could one day make a difference in the lives of my friends and neighbors. It was that simple goal that eventually led me to Washington and the halls of Congress.
For over a decade, I have been humbled by the ongoing support and encouragement of the community that raised me. Today, I’m asking for it again.
