As Donald Trump and his MAGA allies launch attack after attack on our communities, our livelihoods, and our values, we know it’s difficult to stay engaged in the political process.

So first and foremost, we want to say thank you for taking the time just to open this message and read it through.

But we also want to be straightforward: Yes, this is a fundraising email.

We know that message is probably more blunt than most of the other emails in your inbox. But in a race as important as Brittany’s, we need all the support we can get. So, if you’re in a position to give, will you chip in to support Brittany Pettersen before tomorrow night’s huge fundraising deadline?

Congress is supposed to serve as a check on the President. But right now, Mike Johnson’s MAGA majority has no interest in serving their constituents and standing up to Trump’s demands. Instead, they’re more than happy to kiss the ring of Donald Trump — all while leaving millions of families sicker, hungrier, and worse off.

With a Congress like this, it’s no wonder why so many Americans are enraged with politics right now.

But we want to be clear: That (extremely justified) anger doesn’t mean we should voluntarily remove ourselves from the political process. Why? Because that’s exactly what Donald Trump wants us to do.

He wants us to throw our hands in the air and give up. He wants us to stay quiet and despondent as he destroys our communities and sabotages our government.

But that’s not how Brittany Pettersen does things. Never has been. Never will be.

So even though so many of us (including Brittany!) are feeling furious, exhausted — and frankly, pissed off — we have to stay engaged. And we have to keep fighting, even when the odds are stacked against us.
