This week, Donald Trump said he has “the right to do anything I want to do, I’m the president of the United States.”
And he basically admitted that it’s OK with him if people think he’s a dictator.
Look, it’s natural to resist the idea that outright authoritarianism — something we think of as happening in other countries or in other eras — is underway right here in America, right now.
And maybe we’ve all seen too many superhero movies that have left us thinking somebody else is going to save us.
But we — everyday Americans, from all walks of life, and from every corner of our nation — have to stand together and fight what Donald Trump is trying to do.
This, of course, is not the only way we can and must stand up to Trump’s fascistic impulses, but speaking truth to power is one significant step along the way.
