Dear John,

These days, I struggle to find the right words.

My heart is restless. My conscience stirred.

Something inside me will not let me move forward until I share this with you.

I have been seeing things that wound me deeply as a Christian. And they’re not isolated. Not random. They are part of a pattern: a rising contempt for our faith.

Just weeks ago, in Nigeria, faithful Christians went to church like they did every Sunday… but they never came home. They were slaughtered right there, while praying.

In Nicaragua, a regime that dares to call itself democratic has imprisoned priests and nuns for preaching — and even expelled entire congregations simply for speaking the name of Christ aloud.

In India and Syria, Christian communities that survived wars, invasions, and centuries of history… today are disappearing before our eyes.

In countries like Yemen, beyond the threat of violence, Christians suffer from hunger and isolation — often cut off from their communities, denied access to food, medical care, financial assistance, or basic resources simply because they refuse to attend mosque on Fridays.

Earlier last month, we received the news that the only Catholic church in Gaza — which also served as a refuge for children and the elderly — was bombed. Many were injured, and lives were lost.

In the West, Canada, France, the UK, and many other countries, churches are desecrated, crosses burned, and authorities barely whisper.

News of the tragedy in Minneapolis, this week, when a 23-year-old transgender attacker opened fire at the Annunciation Catholic School, killing two children and injuring 17 others. This was clearly an attack on faith, and the FBI is already investigating the massacre as an “anti-Catholic hate crime.”

This isn’t abstract. It’s daily life for our brothers and sisters.

In Nigeria alone, 30 Christians are murdered every single day. Thirty mothers, fathers, sons, daughters…

I can’t help but think: what if it were my church? What if it were yours?

And while all this unfolds, the world stays silent.

Millions of Christians stay silent.

But persecution is not only physical. It is also mockery, contempt dressed up as entertainment

It’s the mockery. The contempt dressed up as entertainment.

  • Platforms like Netflix and Apple TV produce shows that ridicule Jesus.
  • The Olympics in France twisted the Last Supper into a parody.
  • Social media silences our convictions while amplifying the vulgar.

Mockery prepares the ground. It makes it easier to persecute, easier to silence, easier to convince us we don’t belong.

And so I ask myself: are we going to get used to this?

I believe the answer is no. Because I see people like you rising up.

At CitizenGO we promised to always be the voice of the voiceless and even if it’s never enough, we are not standing by with folded arms.

  • We forced Apple to answer for their mockery.
  • We drove through Paris with a bold message: “We will not accept the ridicule of what is sacred.”
  • We are keeping pressure on governments and institutions that insult our faith.

And in every corner of the world where they try to silence us, you and thousands like you have been helping us shout: Here we are.

But reacting is not enough. We must stay awake. Connected. United.

If we want to truly turn the tide, the response has to be massive.

That’s why we prepared a simple video. Not to overwhelm you, but to open your eyes.

See what is happening.

See how we are resisting.

Watch the video here

This is my question for you: will you join the resistance?

  • Share the video so millions hear the truth.
  • ✍️ Sign and spread our petitions to defend the persecuted.
  • Help us keep pressure on those who mock our faith.

Show them that we are not alone.

Let’s show them that when they attack our faith, they touch the deepest part of who we are. And we will not yield a single inch.

That we will not give in.

That our voice, when joined together, is stronger than their contempt.

Thank you for not giving up.

With all my heart,

Rocío D’Angelo and the entire CitizenGO team
