I’ve seen a lot during my time in Congress. Since I was sworn in after flipping this seat in 2022, I’ve made an effort to work with both sides of the aisle to get results for IL-13 and beyond.

So believe me when I tell you that it’s never been more difficult to achieve meaningful progress than right now. House Republicans are bending to this administration at every turn – gutting Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential programs by nearly a trillion dollars in exchange for giving the ultra-wealthy a tax break.

Despite the odds, I’m not backing down. Not when thousands of working families in Central and Southern Illinois depend on me to fight for them.

While I have gotten results including state education funding and legislation to protect our veterans, it’s no secret that Democrats need to take the House majority to put an end to the MAGA agenda.

That’s what makes my race so critical. I flipped this seat from red to blue before, and it’s kept me a top target. I’m facing multiple challengers in this race who would act as nothing more than a rubber stamp for the national GOP.
