 All research begins with a question. For Wyoming Game and Fish Department wildlife management teams, finding the best method to answer that question can be half of the battle. Since 2021, the Science, Research and Analytical Support Unit, or SRA, has been changing the timeline on reaching those answers by providing streamlined and innovative approaches to the research process.

Toad-ally awesome
On June 3, nearly 600 Wyoming toads were released at the Mortenson Lake National Wildlife Refuge in southeast Wyoming. The release was part of a larger effort to restore the endemic toad species to the Laramie Basin.

Partnership promotes safety with bear spray giveaways and training
Bear spray giveaways and training events will be taking place throughout northwest Wyoming in August and September. The events will help raise awareness, and provide important information about safety while recreating in bear country as the fall months approach.

Preorder your 2025 Wyoming Wildlife calendar today
This year is flying by, which means it is almost time to get a new calendar. Photos have been selected and production is underway for the 2026 Wyoming Game and Fish Department calendar, published by Wyoming Wildlife magazine. Preorders are available through Oct. 9. Preordered calendars will arrive in November, making them a wonderful gift for the holidays.
