If you need help with your Social Security, the Social Security Administration is there to help.
…at least, it used to be. Donald Trump and Elon Musk forced out over 7,000 trained, experienced SSA workers, and have replaced them with an automated chatbot. Now, instead of speaking with someone who can help, seniors need to navigate a glitchy automated telephone menu.
New reporting from the LA Times reveals that the Social Security Administration tested the chatbot before Trump took office, and deemed it not good enough. Trump apparently had no such concerns:

The chatbot isn’t the only way AI has compromised Social Security. Earlier this week, the New York Times found that Elon Musk’s DOGE goons put the entire Social Security NUMIDENT file, which contains personal information about every single person with a Social Security number, on an insecure private server, possibly to use as training data for Musk’s AI.
