Donald Trump barely lost Minnesota in 2016 — in fact, he was just 1.5 percentage points from flipping it.

This time around, he'll be dumping truckloads of money into Minnesota to try to swing this election in his favor — and to get another lapdog in the Senate by replacing my good friend and colleague Tina Smith with Republican Jason Lewis.

We can't let that happen. We need Tina in the Senate to fight back against health insurance companies, root out corruption, help students getting crushed by debt, and hold Wall Street accountable for hurting working people.

I'll just be blunt: This will be a tough fight. Republicans have a network of dark money groups and super PACs at their every beck and call, and we know they like to play big-money politics because they're afraid of the grassroots energy we bring to the fight.

And you know what? They should be.

But we can’t just nibble away at their massive cash advantage. We need a grassroots movement to come through if we’re going to take on the right-wing special interests and win.

So, when people like you and I fight alongside leaders like Tina, that's the most powerful political force in the country. That’s also why I’m asking:
