Dear John,
I’m Candy Emmons, the new Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon—and the first woman to lead this organization in more than 30 years. I’m a fifth-generation Oregonian who grew up in a trailer park in South Salem as the child of teen parents—we made it because Democrats fought for families like ours.
I’m stepping into this role alongside Nathan Soltz, our new Chair and the youngest person to ever lead our Party. We’re building the future of the Democratic Party of Oregon—and we’re doing it with deep roots and big ambitions. Help us build the future of the Democratic Party by donating now!
We’ve both been mentored, supported, and shaped by longtime Democrats who built our foundations, and inspired us to carry the torch forward. Now, we’re asking you to help us strengthen the infrastructure of our Democratic Party to fight for people all across Oregon like us.
Let me be clear: Donating to the Party isn’t glamorous. It’s not about one fancy dinner or one charismatic candidate. It’s about powering the behind-the-scenes non-stop work that wins elections up and down the ballot year after year.
We’re not talking about a slick rebrand. We’re talking about fixing the damn plumbing. And when we don’t? Everything goes to shit.
Your donation helps us:
- Talk to hundreds of thousands of voters—every year, not just in election season, through initiatives like our Neighborhood Leader Program and our Non-Affiliated Voter Outreach Program
- Send over 4 million pieces of mail on behalf of Democratic candidates each election cycle
- Build real, long-term power in communities in every corner of Oregon
-
Provide trainings to every county so they can organize, grow, and win
- Elect Democrats in all 36 counties—because we don’t leave anyone behind
If you believe in that work, I’m asking you to pitch in.
Please make a donation today of $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can give.
Help us do the gritty, real work of building power—for the long haul.
In solidarity,
Candy Emmons
Executive Director
Democratic Party of Oregon
