Child Care in America Costs More Than College. Here’s What I’m Doing About It.
<[link removed]>
<[link removed]>
America’s strength comes from its families, whether parents work full-time,
stay home with their children or find a balance somewhere in between. But for
the millions of parents who want to return to work or need to do so after their
children are born, the lack of affordable, accessible child care is a major
barrier. It’s not just a personal challenge for individuals; it’s an obstacle
that hurts the U.S. economy and dampens productivity, and it’s one we are
decades overdue in addressing.
I know firsthand the challenges that working parents face because I’ve lived
it. Fifteen years ago, before I was elected to the U.S. Senate, my husband and
I searched for child care for our two children and struggled with the same
challenges that other families still face today: long waitlists and scarce
options. When we finally found a center that could take both of our children,
we were shocked by the exorbitant cost. Signing those checks, we felt like we
were paying for college tuition.

'It's absolutely ridiculous': Britt blasts Dem pushback on Trump deploying
National Guard to DC to solve crime problem
<[link removed]>
<[link removed]>
On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) criticized the blowback
from Democrats over President Donald Trump's efforts to decrease rampant crime
in Washington, D.C.
Earlier this month, Trump activated the National Guard and placed the DC
Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control to "reestablish law
and order of public safety" in the nation's capital, which has been met with
criticism from the left.
Britt told JT Nyeswander on "Alabama's Morning News" that Democrats being
opposed to Trump's efforts to shore up the crime problem proved the party
lacked common sense and was "embracing crime." She went on to say that safe
streets were "imperative" for a better pathway to the American Dream for
citizens.

Sen. Britt signs letter calling for ban on Chinese seafood imports
<[link removed]>
<[link removed]>
U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Alabama, signed onto a letter sent to U.S.
Department of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick last Thursday, urging Lutnick
to help address illegal Chinese fishing vessels.
The letter, signed by Britt and U.S. Senator Rick Scott, R-Florida, alleged
that fishers from China—the largest exporter of seafood to the U.S.—are
engaging in illegal, unreported and unregulated, IUU, fishing at the cost of
the U.S. seafood industry.

I didn’t run for Senate to sit on the sidelines. I’m a mom, a conservative,
and proud to stand for every corner of Alabama—our cities, small towns, and
rural communities alike.
I’m rooted in faith, built on family, and committed to making Alabama stronger
and better for generations to come.
Alabama is a place of hard work, strong values, and unyielding independence.
But the Left is trying to tear that all down. I didn’t come to Washington to
play games. I came to fight for every Alabamian who feels forgotten and left
behind.
Whether it’s securing our borders, protecting our children, or defending our
way of life, I’m here fighting for Alabama’s future.
This fight isn’t easy, but it's worth it. And I’m not going anywhere.
Will you stand with me?
