America First Legal continues its mission to protect the rule of law and the rights of the American people across its many priorities. AFL filed a major lawsuit against Shell USA for alleged racial discrimination, took a stand against the political weaponization of bar associations, applauded the dismissal of an unconstitutional penalty in Letitia James’ politically motivated civil fraud case against President Trump, and acted to safeguard election integrity in Maricopa County. These efforts are part of our unwavering commitment to defend the Constitution and hold both government and corporate power accountable.

THIS WEEK’S KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

America First Legal Sues the FDA Over Alleged Cover-Up of Biden-Era Records on Puberty Blockers for Children |
AFL sued the FDA for failing to release key records that purport to show a cover-up by the Biden Administration of the dangerous effects of off-label puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to children. The Biden Administration’s FDA knew these drugs increase depression and suicide risks, but put its ideology over the health of children and their families. It’s been a year since AFL sought this information, and parents and children deserve answers now.

America First Legal Sues Shell for Alleged Illegal Racially Discriminatory DEI Workforce Reorganization |
AFL filed a federal lawsuit against Shell USA, Inc. for allegedly orchestrating a racially discriminatory reorganization targeting white employees. As part of its DEI practices, Shell violated the rights of talented and tenured employees by transferring and terminating some employees in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, even going so far as giving them “tear jars,” an act underscoring the company’s dismissive treatment of these employees.

America First Legal President Gene Hamilton Speaks on the Weaponization of Bar Association Discipline |
AFL President Gene Hamilton spoke on a Federalist Society panel this week regarding the weaponization of bar associations to silence and intimidate attorneys for political purposes. Gene’s discussion included information regarding how bar associations across the United States are becoming focal points of legal and political controversy, as seen in high-profile disciplinary actions against figures like Jeffrey Clark and Austin Knudsen. These cases raise concerns about whether professional regulation is being used for political purposes. The panel examined whether bar proceedings are neutral or ideologically motivated, whether current safeguards appropriately protect against viewpoint discrimination, and how legal institutions can uphold both public trust and ideological diversity in the profession.

America First Legal Applauds New York Appellate Court’s Dismissal of Unconstitutional Civil Penalty in Letitia James’s Politically-Motivated Civil Fraud Case Against President Trump |
AFL praised the New York Appellate Division for overturning a $500 million civil fraud penalty against President Trump, calling it excessive and unconstitutional under the Eighth Amendment. AFL, alongside Murray-Nolan Berutti LLC, filed an amicus brief arguing the case was politically motivated and legally unfounded. Judge Friedman, one of the appellate judges, agreed with overturning the penalty and opined the entire case should be dismissed. In his dissent, Judge Friedman directly quoted from AFL’s amicus brief.

America First Legal Fights Back Against Unprecedented Attack on Election Integrity in Maricopa County |
AFL filed legal motions on behalf of Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap, alleging that the County Board of Supervisors and County Attorney Rachel Mitchell have deliberately sabotaged the Recorder’s efforts to oversee elections by stripping his office of control over key election infrastructure and staff. The filings accuse the Board and Mitchell of coordinated retaliation, ethical misconduct, and creating a severe risk to election integrity in Arizona’s most populous county, potentially threatening the voting rights of millions.

AMERICA FIRST LEGAL IN THE NEWS:
New York Post: Shell fired white staffers at Houston offices for ‘weaker’ diverse hires in ‘discriminatory’ purge: lawsuit |
“If a corporation can openly discriminate against employees because of the color of their skin — under the guise of DEI — then no one’s rights are safe.”
Fox News: What leads someone to commit a mass shooting? Trump admin, RFK Jr plan to find out |
“In response to Kennedy floating a potential tie between shootings and certain prescription intake, senior advisor to America First Legal Ian Prior told Fox Digital that the conservative group uncovered FDA ‘documents showing the government’ knew puberty blockers increase depression and suicidal thoughts.”
“Yet they still pushed them on vulnerable kids. We are flooding children with drugs that destabilize their minds— from puberty blockers to SSRIs — and then acting surprised when tragic violence erupts," he said. “Instead of protecting kids, federal regulators have created a generation struggling with instability that endangers both themselves and the public. If we want to end mass shootings, we must confront these underlying causes head-on.”
