AUGUST 2025 NEWSLETTER
One of the most important things your support can do is give children in crisis the chance to just be kids.
Your compassion reaches children across the U.S. and around the world — offering safety, comfort and hope when they need it most.
In regions torn apart by war, like Ukraine… in communities struggling with natural disasters, like Brazil… and in places where hunger has taken hold, like Gaza and Sudan… the generosity of our supporters has made it possible for children not just to survive, but to experience moments of joy again.

Childhood is being erased in Gaza
Save the Children continues to deliver critical services to children and their families despite severe restrictions on aid that have left supplies dwindling. We continue to advocate for a definitive ceasefire, a flood of aid and full access so that all children in Gaza can receive the lifesaving care they urgently need.

Finding comfort during a crisis in Brazil
Alice*, a 9-year-old girl from southern Brazil, suffered a devastating loss when her family's home was swept away by floods. Everything she owned was gone. At the temporary shelter, Alice got sick, refused to eat and cried uncontrollably, terrified that every rainstorm would bring more heartbreak. But in a child-friendly space set up by Save the Children, Alice discovered that clutching a stuffed bear during the rain calmed her anxieties.

Becoming BFFs at Summer Camp in Romania
On Dima's* 9th birthday, bombs fell in his community in Ukraine. The attack forced him and his family to flee to relatives near Kyiv, then to the Romanian border. While Dima, now 11, was relieved he and his family were safe, he missed his former life and all of his friends. But that changed when he attended a Save the Children summer camp for Ukrainian and Romanian children. He quickly made friends with 12-year-old Broasca*, bonding over football and creating their own handshake.
