Fighting Against Proposed Utility Bill Increases
This month, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez led members of New York’s Congressional Delegation in urging the state to reject Con Edison’s requests to increase utility bills for working New Yorkers.

Student Loans Webinar
Our office recently hosted an informative webinar in collaboration with EDCAP, a program of the Community Service Society of New York, discussing what new federal policies mean for student loan payments. If you couldn’t attend the live session, don’t worry! You can watch the recording below ⬇️
Know Your Rights Workshop
At the beginning of August, our office hosted a Know Your Rights workshop alongside the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and local community partners.

Have an upcoming check-in with ICE or immigration court hearing? You have the right to contact a lawyer about your case. Contact the New York State Office for New Americans at 800-566-7636 for a legal referral, or contact our office for more local resources and Know Your Rights information.
Recently, our constituent, Xiomara, reached out to our office after her New York City Housing Authority annual recertification was pending for several months. Our casework team reached out to the New York City Housing Authority and is proud to announce that her recertification has been processed.
Community Roundtable in Corona
This summer, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez hosted a roundtable discussion with community members in Corona to discuss their coordinated efforts to make Roosevelt Avenue a safer and cleaner place.
NYCHA Family Days
Our team joined New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Family Days across the district to connect with NYCHA families, share information about constituent resources, and celebrate our community.
