I spent the past few weeks during the congressional recess in the Seventh Congressional District. From Springfield to Moorhead, Park Rapids to Marshall, and Little Falls to Willmar, I have worked to connect with constituents across the district. I am so grateful for all the conversations I have had with individuals, organizations, and local governments. As Congress heads back to D.C. next week, I will take those ideas with me and continue our work to make our district stronger.

Roundtable Discussions

This week, I had the opportunity to connect with several law enforcement officers from around our district at a roundtable discussion at my Willmar office. We chatted about what they are seeing regarding public safety in their towns and counties, and ways we can help the law enforcement community.

I also met with Health & Pension WORKS to discuss reforms that will help provide hard working individuals with retirement opportunities. 

Time in the District

In Elbow Lake, I visited with Mayor Deb Hengel and community members. They shared about the needs of their community. We discussed items like affordable housing, the need for rural healthcare, and the importance of education.

I was given a tour of the Red River Diversion construction site near Moorhead. Thank you to R.J. Zavoral and Sons for the tour and your leadership on this project. This project will help mitigate the flooding in the Moorhead/Fargo area.

While there, I was honored to receive the 2025 ABC Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors.

Thank you to Mayor Shelly Carlson and the Moorhead Police and Clay County Sheriff’s Departments for taking the time to meet with me. We discussed how public safety is a key priority of the city of Moorhead.

This week I was able to spend time at both of my district offices, meeting with constituents and groups, and taking time to hear from staff about what they are hearing from constituents in the district. Mobile Office Hours in Madison

My staff will hold mobile office hours in Madison on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Madison City Hall.
