John,
We’ve seen right-wing politicians manipulating the rules on voting in Wisconsin over, and over, and over again.
They’ve redrawn legislative district lines to make Wisconsin into one of the most gerrymandered states in the nation.
They’ve changed the rules to make it harder and more complicated for voters to vote.
They even forced Wisconsinites to potentially risk their health and safety with in-person voting in the middle of a global health pandemic.
Now, with COVID still in our communities, Republican legislators have publicly opposed a plan to mail absentee ballot applications to thousands of Wisconsin voters.
We’ve had enough, and we’re pushing back.
That’s why we’re asking for your help, and your donation, to our Voter Protection Fund.
Our plan is simple.
We’re going to use research and rapid response communications to educate voters about their rights and how they can make their voices heard in our elections. And we’re going to hold right-wing politicians accountable for attacking voting rights.
And we’re already on the case. Here’s a sample of our work calling out the right wing in Wisconsin for their hypocrisy when it comes to helping people vote absentee:
MADISON – Wisconsin Republicans who oppose making it easier for people to vote absentee have taken advantage of the opportunity to vote by mail in recent elections, with more than 80% of GOP members of the state Legislature doing it in April. An analysis of absentee voting records provided to The Associated Press by the liberal advocacy group A Better Wisconsin Together showed a dramatic increase in absentee voting in the April presidential primary and state Supreme Court election. Republicans fought against making that election mail-in only as Democrats and Gov. Tony Evers proposed.
Our work is far from done. That’s why we need your help with a donation to our Voter Protection Fund today.
Thanks for all you do.
A Better Wisconsin Together
