** ConservAmerica Holds Conference Focused on Private Lands and Wildlife Corridors
------------------------------------------------------------
August 29, 2025
Washington, DC - ConservAmerica hosted a full day conference on Private Lands and Wildlife Corridors: Best Ideas and Best Practices in Livingston, Montana this week.
The one-day conference brought together conservation professionals, policy makers and experts, and community leaders to discuss how privately held lands play a critical role in maintaining wildlife movement and ecological connectivity. Leading experts with hands-on experience presented current practices, emerging ideas, and resources for private landowners and managers.
“This conference was a great example of ConservAmerica’s strength in connecting people and organizations to create efficiency and better outcomes for America,” said former ConservAmerica President and Senior Fellow Rob Sisson. “Private lands are vital to the western ecosystem and landscape. Several of our friends in the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus play an important role in developing the policy and legislation that assists private landowners in better managing wildlife corridors and habitat. We were honored to be able to bring so many interested parties and experts together to discuss these important and relevant issues and thank everyone who joined us.”
Following the conference, a public reception was held for the inaugural Peacock Prizes. The Peacock Prizes are named and held in honor one of America’s conservation legends, Doug Peacock. A fierce advocate for wilderness and wildlife, and the author of six critically acclaimed and award-winning books, Doug continues to dedicate his life to the cause of conservation.
With the Peacock Prizes, ConservAmerica recognized environmental and conservation advocates who ‘monkey wrench’ expectations.
