I just stepped out of a final August budget meeting and wanted to give you a quick update before our deadline hits in a few days:

* We’re pacing just a bit behind our end-of-month goal. Fundraising often slows during the summer months, but falling short could have long-term consequences for our year-round voter outreach.
* Republicans are ramping up their attacks – including national ad spending targeting this district as you read this message.
* Mike’s opponent was the top-raising Republican challenger in the country in the first quarter.

Despite it all, Mike’s commitment to our communities doesn’t waver: He still refuses to take a dime of corporate PAC money.That means this campaign depends entirely on people like you to close the gap.

We’ve seen this playbook before. The national GOP pours dark money into CA-49 in an effort to silence our grassroots power. But we’ve proven them wrong before, and I know we can do it again.
