It's no secret that our country is in a cost of living crisis. The average working family is already stretched thin with rent, groceries, and gas, and so many more are living paycheck to paycheck.
But thanks to Trump's reckless spending bill, healthcare costs across the country are also skyrocketing—in Florida, ACA marketplace insurance premiums are projected to increase 18% by NEXT YEAR.
1 in 5 Floridians rely on the Affordable Care Act—the largest percentage of people compared to any other state.
The program was expanded in 2021 to help more Americans get the preventative care they need, and the subsidies were set to be renewed in 2025. But in addition to the Medicaid and Medicare funding cuts in the MAGA budget bill, Trump refused to renew the program.
The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that these changes will result in 7.7 MILLION people without health insurance by 2034.
That's why I'm fighting to get back to Congress, so we can restore these programs and ease the burden on American families.
However, Trump and DeSantis are already working to silence South Florida Democrats—they've announced plans to draw out our district for a new Republican one, and they've already hand-picked a Trump loyalist to run against me next year.
