This is what it means to be a child in Gaza today, Friend:
Born into war …
Displaced again and again …
Living in a small tent without your favorite teddy bear …
And now, slowly going hungry …

Like most of Gaza’s children, Nour has been displaced with her parents many times. She and her family now live in a small tent in Deir al-Balah.
Nour’s mother, Ilham, heard about Project HOPE when she rushed to a different clinic for vaccinations and learned that her daughter’s weight was below the normal range. “I heard from another patient that Project HOPE has a clinic nearby that treats cases like my daughter's and provides nutritional supplements,” she said. “That’s what brought me here.”
As a lactating mother, Ilham’s own health has been severely affected by the lack of food, which in turn has impacted her ability to nourish her baby.

“I have no food, no milk to feed her. Even bread has become a luxury. I have nothing to offer for breakfast…Seeing my daughter hungry and having no food to give her breaks my heart. I feel powerless.”
