I’ll be honest with you: August has been a slow fundraising month.

While I know so many of you are juggling back-to-school costs, higher grocery bills and everyday challenges, the truth is: We cannot afford to lose ground to Trump and the far right.

Democrats are fighting to deliver real progress for working families. Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress have slashed Medicaid and SNAP benefits and are actively working to undermine even more social programs.

They want to privatize Social Security, slash Medicaid even further and tear apart the very programs that millions of Americans rely on to survive.

That’s how we passed the Affordable Care Act and blocked the GOP from overturning it in 2017. That’s how we’ll keep fighting to stop attacks on Social Security, Medicare and more — if we don’t give up now.

I don’t take your support for granted. I know it’s a sacrifice to give, and I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t critical. But this is the moment to show we will not sit on the sidelines while Trump and the far right try to drag us backward.
