Overnight closures to allow final repair works

National Highways has announced overnight closures affecting the QMC roundabout next week. It is the final part of works to repair the bridge and will see the installation of new traffic lights and pavement. The northern quadrant between the A6514 Middleton Boulevard northbound entry slip road and the A6514 Middleton Boulevard southbound exit slip road will be closed from Monday (1 September) to Friday (5 September). A diversion route will be via Middleton Boulevard and Crown Island. It can be seen here.

A52 now closed outbound until the autumn

A reminder that the westbound (outbound) stretch of the A52 between Priory Island and QMC Island (see above) is closed for the next three months.

National Highways, which is responsible for the A52, is upgrading the road surface because it is coming to the end of its serviceable life. The works will also improve drainage and see new lighting introduced.

A combined cycleway and footway on the eastbound side of the A52 will be added as part of the project.

This stretch is now only open eastbound (inbound to the city) - travel westbound (outbound from the city) is not possible.
