A message from Council Leader, Councillor Neghat Khan
With children returning to schools as summer comes to an end, so does Nottingham beach which closes this Sunday! Whether you’ve visited for the rides or just had a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine, we hope it’s brought some joy to your summer.
This weekend is also the Archery GB National Tour: The Final is coming to Wollaton Hall, where some of the UK’s top archers - including Olympians and Paralympians - will compete for the national title. It’s a great opportunity for families to enjoy world-class sport right here in our city, maybe we'll see you there?
Finally, I’m proud to say we’re turning words into action – with over £765,000 worth of improvements set to be delivered across 23 of our city’s parks and playgrounds. This investment will create safer, greener and more accessible spaces for children and families to enjoy for years to come. More below.

More than 15 million green energy powered journeys take place on the tram network every year, including to the only hospital in the UK with it's own tram stop, Queen's Medical Centre.

Turning words into action – with £765,000 worth of improvements planned for Nottingham parks and playgrounds
Nottingham’s parks, playgrounds and green spaces will benefit from a £765,000 programme of improvements to be carried out by the City Council.
The extra funding is part of a £2m additional in-year investment in core, universal services announced last week by the Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Ethan Radford, which he said was possible due to the authority getting it house in order and improving its financial position, demonstrating ‘not words – but action’.
