Mariam Abu Dagga, our brave colleague in Gaza, was killed by Israeli
forces on Monday.

Mariam helped us collect video testimonies to pressure EU officials to
suspend trade and sanction Israel.

EU ministers are meeting to discuss Gaza - let's honour Mariam's legacy

John,

Mariam Abu Dagga, our brave colleague in Gaza, was killed this week by
Israeli forces. We are devastated.

We worked closely with Mariam to collect video testimonies from people in
Gaza that we used in several campaigns to end the genocide.

The last communication we received from Mariam was after a long day of
filming for one of our recent pushes targeting the EU to sanction Israel.
“Best of luck to you all <3” she said.

Now she is dead, and officials like EU President Ursula von der Leyen and
Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas have Mariam’s blood on their hands.

Kallas along with EU foreign ministers are meeting in Copenhagen to
discuss Gaza. Let’s honour Mariam’s legacy and 10x our outcry as they
meet.

Mariam was reporting on the situation at Nasser Hospital this morning when
an Israeli missile struck, killing Mariam and several others. As rescue
workers arrived at the scene, another missile hit, killing several more
people.

Mariam was one of the most talented and compassionate photographers and
videographers we’ve ever worked with. She spent countless hours collecting
testimonies from people in Gaza which we used to target individual EU
officials as well as the FIFA council.

At least 192 journalists have been killed in Gaza since October 2023 –
more than any war ever, including both world wars.

Every time the EU meets to discuss Gaza, our community is there poking
them in different ways to act. The Danish government is convening EU
foreign ministers today and tomorrow, so we ran full-page ad in Denmark’s
largest newspaper on Wednesday to ramp up pressure on the Danish Prime
Minister and ensure that the meeting delivers bold action against Israel.

Let’s keep up the pressure and carry on the essential work that Mariam did
before she was killed.

On days like this it's hard to keep going. But we can't give up on Mariam.
And we can't give up on the 60,000 others that have also been killed. Our
power is in our numbers, so if we keep doing it together, we will finally
see an end to Israel's genocide.
