Republicans are once again threatening to hold the government hostage. They’d rather play political games than do their jobs.
But we’ll let you in on a secret: In about a month, federal government funding will run out, and Republicans will need Democratic votes to prevent a shutdown.
We’d love to know your top priorities as Democrats head into this fight in September. It’s imperative Senate Democrats know we want them to fight and what we want them to fight for. Will you take a few minutes out of your day to name your top priorities for congressional Democrats?
We’re asking every grassroots supporter to take the survey to name their congressional priorities. If enough people complete the survey, MoveOn will use your responses to create a memo to send to Democratic leadership and our biggest champions so they know what issues our movement demands they fight tooth and nail to protect.

We know that last spring, Democrats failed to hold the line on government funding and simply went along with the Republican proposals. This time around, let’s make sure they hear from MoveOn members like you and other advocates and volunteers across our movement. When Republicans threaten to shut down the government to force through their extreme agenda, Democrats need to hold the line. Senate Democrats must use their power to stand firm and do what it takes to pass bipartisan legislation that prevents further harm.
We need as many MoveOn members as possible to respond to ensure Democrats know your priorities and can take that support into September. Together, we can push Democrats to go into the latest chaotic Republican-induced fight with courage, vision, and the grassroots momentum it takes to win a better future for us all.
