Hi John,
On tonight’s Workers’ Labor Day Activist Virtual Call, you’ll hear from fellow activists, workers and union leaders about some of the fantastic events we have planned for Workers’ Labor Day week of action.
You’ll also learn about your rights, how to take action safely, and how to create or join an event and mobilize others to attend. More than 1,000 people have already signed up to attend for some inspiration and training.
Here’s tonight’s speaker lineup:
- Liz Shuler, President, AFL-CIO
- Katie Bethell, Executive Director, MoveOn.Org
- Emma Turner-Trujillo, Member, AFSCME Council 31
- David Huerta, President, SEIU California and SEIU-USWW
- Keya Chatterjee, Executive Director, Free DC
- Samuel Epps, President, Metropolitan Washington Council
- Erika Alexander, President, AFGE Local 518
Here are the training options we’ll be offering during tonight’s event:
- First Amendment Rights Guidance/Know Your Rights
- Union Peacekeeper Best Practices
- Delivering Our Message Through the Noise and Holding Corporate CEOs Accountable
- #WorkersDeserve: Freedom, Fairness and Security!
Workers’ Labor Day is a celebration of working people and the power we have when we come together in a union—the power to take back our country for working people, not billionaires.
Will you join us TONIGHT to kick off Workers’ Labor Day? If you’ve already RSVP’d, ask a friend to join you. We need every single supporter of working people to stand up for freedom, fairness and security during our biggest Workers’ Labor Day ever.
Together with labor unions and allies, we’re ready to show America who we are and how we fight.
In solidarity,
Team AFL-CIO
P.S. If you want to participate in the training segment of tonight’s program, make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed on your computer or mobile device.
P.P.S. If you can’t join the call, you can still join us on Workers’ Labor Day! Find an event near you.
