I feel relief today. There is so much uncertainty in the world right now, but the Supreme Court of the United States upheld reproductive freedom and respected judicial precedent.

As we know too well: this is not the last threat to reproductive rights. I remember the days before Roe v. Wade, and we simply cannot go back. Our Constitutional right to comprehensive reproductive health - including abortion - remains under attack.

The attacks are unrelenting, unfounded, and plainly cruel. But today, we offer women - in Louisiana and nationwide - another beacon of hope and strength.

I will continue resisting any and all dangerous efforts in Congress to restrict the right of women to make their own reproductive health care decisions. And I will continue to fight for the right of women to make those decisions without burdensome restrictions.
