Hi, it's Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia.

By now, you’ve heard the news that California will likely redraw its districts in response to Texas’s illegal gerrymandering. I will be running in California’s new 42nd District.

I’m happy to take one for the team. But there’s a catch: The new district is tougher.

In 2024, my old district voted for Kamala Harris by a margin of 32 points. Our new district voted for Kamala Harris by less than half that. I’m taking on more new Republican voters than anyone else in the state.

That means we need to fight harder than ever to keep this seat blue.

This is going to be one of the most competitive races in California. Republicans will pour money into Southern California to try to flip this seat. And the only way we can stop them is with a strong grassroots campaign powered by supporters like you.
