Hi John,
The CBC is hiding salaries from taxpayers and we want to know what you think.
Unlike most provinces, the federal government has no “sunshine law” that forces government bodies to disclose the names, positions, and salaries of their highest paid employees.
That means CBC takes more than $1 billion from taxpayers like you every year while keeping its payroll in the dark.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation filed an access-to-information request to try to get this information.
The result was a 65-page list of employees paid more than $100,000 per year.
But CBC redacted information for hundreds of employees on the list. That means taxpayers still don’t know how much those employees are being paid or for what reason.
We have the chance to appeal this decision to demand more transparency.
That’s why we want to know what you think about CBC salary transparency.
This one-question survey takes just a few seconds. But your voice helps us keep fighting the issues that matter most to you. Just click your answer to automatically vote.
