Dear John,
Infants and children in Gaza are starving to death in their parents’ arms, while Netanyahu’s Israeli government persists in preventing the delivery of even a single truck of food by such trusted organizations as Oxfam and Médecins Sans Frontières.
Denying the most basic humanitarian aid can only be understood as a calculated attempt to starve an entire population into submission.
This catastrophic denial of aid is no accident. It has been enabled by billions in U.S.-made weaponry. Congress can -- and must -- take action now, to end our country's complicity in this unconscionable human suffering.
This is why Rep. Delia C. Ramirez introduced the Block the Bombs Act -- a pivotal step toward peace and accountability, with original leadership by Reps. Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan, and 33 current Democratic cosponsors including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and others from across the country.
Send a direct message to your House representative urging them to pass the Block the Bombs Act immediately!
This crucial piece of legislation will prohibit the President from selling, transferring, or authorizing export licenses for seven categories of offensive weapons, including bunker busters, gliding bombs, and tank and artillery ammunition such as white phosphorus.
It will allow transfers only if Congress enacts a law specifying allowed use, and Israel provides written assurances that weapons will be used in compliance with U.S. and international laws -- including international humanitarian and human rights law.
The bill is supported by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Jews for Racial & Economic Justice, Jewish Voice for Peace Action, and dozens of additional advocacy groups and faith networks.
And public polling has shown broad support for restricting arms to Israel going back to June 2024, when a CBS/YouGov poll found 77% of Democrats and 61% of all Americans support such restrictions. A more recent April 2025 poll by Data for Progress similarly showed 70% of Democratic voters favor limiting arms sales to Israel.
This is what the American people -- and U.S. law -- demand. It’s not only morally imperative, but legally required to halt military aid that may enable war crimes. Yet this legislation will only become reality if constituents like you speak out now -- and push Congress to act.
Sign and send a direct message to your Representative and urge them to cosponsor and vote for the Block the Bombs Act now.
Thank you for declaring the deliberate starvation of innocent children must come to an end.
