Supreme Court formally asked to overturn landmark same-sex marriage ruling

The right to marriage equality is about so much more than saying “I do” at the altar. It determines who is allowed at a hospital bedside in a person’s final moments. It decides who can share the assets and home they’ve built together over a lifetime. It defines whether both parents are recognized as equal in their children’s lives. These are basic human rights and dignities that every person deserves.
Just like abortion rights, marriage equality stems from the principles of privacy and equality. Both shape the very course of people’s lives. And both depend on trusting Americans — not politicians, not judges — to control their own freedoms.
Donald Trump stacked the Supreme Court with right-wing judges to undo decades of progress. First, it was reproductive freedom. Now, it’s marriage equality. What comes next?
Abortion bans don’t protect anyone. Same-sex marriage harms no one. These fights have always been about control.
We cannot allow them to win. I believe this ongoing fight will define the future of our country. Join me in demanding the Supreme Court protect marriage equality » [link removed]
