Gun violoence is the leading cause of death for children in the United States - Steve Kerr

John, it's Coach Steve Kerr here. You may know me as the coach of the Golden State Warriors — but I'm also a father, gun violence survivor, and someone who refuses to sit back while kids are gunned down in our schools.

We’ve already seen kids gunned down: Yesterday, two children were killed while praying at their Catholic school in Minneapolis, MN. The school year was only two days in – there wasn’t even a chance for kids to feel joy before they hid in fear.

This is the horrifying reality for the Lockdown Generation. Kids who know their teachers' hiding spots better than their playground games. Kids who carry clear or bulletproof backpacks to class. Kids who grow up not wondering if a shooting will happen at their school, but when.

This isn't normal. And it isn't acceptable.

If we're going to end this epidemic, we need consistent grassroots support behind us — and that's going to take at least 50 new recurring donors before midnight on Sept. 10. That's why Brady is launching a special back-to-school campaign where we'll be matching all new monthly gifts all year long to fuel our fight in Congress, in the courts, and in communities nationwide.

John, will you take advantage of this exclusive match opportunity now and become a monthly Brady donor today so we can keep fighting for kids? Your steady support makes the difference in passing laws, stopping the gun lobby, and preventing the next school shooting from happening.

Every month, your gift will help Brady take on the NRA's allies in Washington, push for common-sense gun reforms, and fight to protect the lives of America's children.

We can't afford to let another back-to-school season begin with gunfire. Together, we can end this epidemic.

Thank you for joining me.

Steve Kerr
Gun violence survivor and coach of the Golden State Warriors

P.S. Not ready to commit to a monthly gift? You can still have an immediate impact by making a one-time donation today. Every dollar helps us fight for safer schools and safer communities.
