Run for Something

Hi John!

For too long, the best campaign advice has either been something you had to be well-connected or well-funded to access, and that kind of structural barrier kept really good people from running in the first place. Here at Run for Something, we work to knock down those walls and give people like you the tools that can make the difference when you or someone you know runs for office.

That’s why I’m really excited to announce: Starting this Wednesday evening and running for the remainder of the summer, Run for Something will be hosting Armchair Chats.

The virtual series is a master class for everyone -- for our endorsed candidates, alumni, over 50,000 potential candidates, and our volunteers and supporters. Anyone who watches can access expert advice and perspective from some of the best campaign practitioners in the nation, and folks who sign up to be on the call can get specific questions answered.

This Wednesday (07/01), at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT, we kick-off our very first chat: "Getting Your Story Heard" with Lis Smith -- co-founder of 50 State Communications and Senior Communications Advisor to former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. Tune in to learn best practices on pitching your story and how to reach voters through earned media.

Sign up here to join our first Armchair Chat with Lis -- whether you’re running for office, thinking about running, or want to help someone run, this series is for you.

Run for Something presents ARMCHAIR CHAT: GETTING YOUR STORY HEARD. Hear from 50 States Communications co-founder Lis Smith on the best methods to pitch your story and reach voters. http://bit.ly/ARMCHAIR1
All of our Armchair Chats will be streamed on Facebook to help progressive candidates access the resources they need to run and secure permanent power.

Here's the Armchair Chats lineup for July:

July 8th: Fundraising in an Uncertain Environment with Anthony Mercurio -- National Investment Director at Pete for America. July 15th: Organizing and the Power of Movement with Jessica Byrd -- Founder of Three Point Strategies. July 22nd: Digital Communications with Teddy Goff -- Co-founder of Precision Strategies. July 29th: Youth Voter Engagement with Sarah Audelo -- Executive Director of The Alliance for Youth Action and Ben Wessel -- Executive Director of NextGen Rising. You can also sign up for all of the Armchair Chats at once here.

I’m so excited for this series and our guests. There will be more to come in August and into September, but for now, I hope you’ll join at least one of our July events and send in questions for our experts. I know they’re excited to help more young progressives run -- and win.

Thank you,

Amanda Litman

P.S. We’re providing this series for free because we believe in knocking down barriers to run for office, not putting them up. If you’d like to help cover the costs of producing the Armchair Chats, you can pitch in here.
