Hi John,
The holiday weekend is right around the corner, and with it, our first-ever It Gets Better Summer Reading Challenge will come to a close.
When we launched this, our goal was simple: raise funds for LGBTQ+ youth while celebrating queer authors and their stories, many of which are being banned in schools across the country. But this challenge became about something so much bigger. Thirteen writers shared videos about their books, hundreds of you read and donated, and together we showed that queer stories cannot and will not be silenced.
Now we’re in the final stretch. With just four days to go and $3,000 left to raise, we’re asking: John, will you donate today to take us over the top?
Here’s what your gift makes possible:
Youth Voices ambassador program: Mentoring two cohorts of LGBTQ+ youth each year to lead with confidence and impact
Student-led community grants: Funding projects in schools, GSA’s and youth groups to create safe, affirming spaces across the country
Amplifying Youth-led stories: From social media to essays to art to live events, empowering young people to share their stories and inspire others
When LGBTQ+ youth have access to these resources, they are twice as likely to succeed, performing better in school, maintaining good health, and overcoming adversity. Your support makes this possible.
