This Week in Labor History
July 5, 1935: The National Labor Relations Act, or Wagner Act, was signed into law recognizing workers' right to organize and bargain collectively. The act also established the National Labor Relations Board to administer union representation elections, define employers' unfair labor practices, and enforce the legal rights of employees to join unions.
