Put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill

[link removed]

Earlier this year, I helped reintroduce a plan that would honor Harriet Tubman's sacrifices for our country as an abolitionist and champion for women's suffrage by placing her likeness on the $20 bill.

The change was supposed to take effect in 2020, but now, the Treasury Department has delayed it until as late as 2028 -- without explanation. And I am disappointed, friend.

Join me and sign your name if you agree that Harriet Tubman belongs on the $20 bill.

Tubman was born into slavery and after escaping, she risked her own freedom and life to take 19 trips on the Underground Railroad and free more than 300 enslaved African Americans.

She played a historic role in ensuring basic rights for all Americans, but too often, our country has come up short when recognizing the contributions of people of color and women -- especially women of color.

Putting Tubman's likeness on the $20 bill would be a step toward honoring her legacy and making a statement that Tubman's values are our country's values.

Sign our petition and tell us why you believe it's important to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.
