With each passing month, more and more Social Security beneficiaries are complaining that it’s even harder to obtain assistance on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) telephone line, on the website or at the shrinking number of fully-staffed SSA offices. And we want to know how these changes are impacting our members and supporters across the country. |

That’s why I recently asked this question of our readers: Have you or a friend or family member had trouble accessing customer service at the Social Security Administration — either in person, online or on the phone? |
Overall, 32% of respondents said they have experienced some form of disruption when trying to access customer service at SSA. It’s clear some of our supporters are finding it difficult to receive assistance from SSA. That’s because the agency’s leadership has made troubling changes: cutting staff, reducing services and making it harder for seniors, people with disabilities and retirees to get the help they need. All while wait times grow longer and backlogs continue to pile up. |
With your support, the National Committee is fighting to protect essential services at SSA and defend the benefits that you and millions of Americans have paid into and earned. |
Please make a gift in any amount you can afford today to support the National Committee’s urgent fight to expose and stop the reckless campaign to weaken public support for Social Security and drastically cut this program’s services and benefits relied on by more than 73 million Americans. |
Thank you again for your loyal partnership.
