It’s not news to Mississippians, especially to Black Mississippians, that our government has left the state behind. For decades, Mississippi’s Republican leaders in Washington have sided with gigantic corporations and left Mississippi’s working families out in the cold.
But Mississippi is changing , and people across the state are making their voices heard in big ways. In the last few weeks, young, Black activists organized thousands of Mississippians to make their voices heard in peaceful protests against police violence. And it was their energy that pushed our leaders to finally remove the confederate emblem from the state flag.
A brighter Mississippi is possible if we fight for it. And there's one person running to represent Mississippi in the Senate who recognizes and welcomes that change — and that person is my friend, Mike Espy.
Mike is a real fighter — a champion for working families who will be a terrific voice for Mississippians in the Senate. I endorsed him when he last ran for this Senate seat in the 2018 special election, and I’m proud to once again stand with him in 2020.
If you’re in a place to do so, will you pitch in $10 or more to Mike Espy’s grassroots campaign today? The most important FEC fundraising deadline is tomorrow, and this campaign is powered by grassroots donors.

Let’s be clear: Mike is exactly the kind of hopeful, hard-working, and dedicated public servant that we need more of in the Senate. He will fight his heart out for Mississippi.
Mike has spent his career fighting for working families, throughout his time serving Mississippi as a congressman, to becoming the first Black U.S. Department of Agriculture secretary in U.S. History. Mike is ready to fight for each and every Mississippian. He’ll fight to expand affordable health care, broadband, and quality public education.
By supporting Mike, not only can we help flip the four seats needed to take back the Senate: We can make history by electing the first Black senator from Mississippi since Reconstruction – representation that is long overdue.
When we fight, we win, so let’s fight to elect the leader Mississippi deserves this November: Make a contribution of $10 or whatever you can to fuel this grassroots campaign and help make Mike Espy the next U.S. Senator from Mississippi.

If we dream big and fight hard, we can win this powerfully important race and create big, structural change in Mississippi.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
