Hey there – Tony Evers here, Governor of Wisconsin.

I’ve spent 50 years in public service. I’m damn proud I devoted my entire career – and most of my life – to working for the people of Wisconsin. Because there is, as always, much work to do.

But right now, Republicans in Washington are allowing Donald Trump to act like a king instead of doing their job. Now, it’s up to us to fight for what’s right.

So I have one question for you today to help inform our work to do just that:

This administration is recklessly trying to gut funding that kids, families, and communities in Wisconsin and throughout the country depend on – all to help pay for tax cuts for their millionaire and billionaire friends.

Quite frankly, it’s bullshit.

But in the face of these attacks, Democratic governors like myself are taking action to protect our freedoms with legal challenges and move our states forward.

In Wisconsin, I’ve sued the Trump administration multiple times, including over its attempts to eliminate the Department of Education, while also using my constitutional partial veto power to extend school funding increases for 400 years.
Gov. Newsom in California is suing the Trump administration for bypassing the executive authority of our country’s governors – calling it “an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act.”
Gov. Kelly in Kansas is working to expand Medicaid for thousands of Kansans and has fully funded public schools for the seventh year in a row.
Gov. Mills in Maine sued Donald Trump’s administration for freezing federal funds for Maine schoolchildren. She won in court and funding has since been reinstated.
Gov. Pritzker in Illinois has filed multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration, and has pushed back on Donald Trump’s attempts to cut critical health and research funding.
Across the country, Democratic governors are answering the call. But as we face a Republican trifecta in Washington, input from grassroots supporters like you is invaluable in deciding our top priorities.
This fight is only just beginning, team, and we need to know what our supporters want to see from us. So today, I’m launching my August Democratic Priorities Survey – so we know what supporters like you are thinking.
