These emails are the best way for our campaign to stay in touch with supporters like you. If you'd prefer, you can unsubscribe here. John, this will be a little different from my usual emails. I want to share something deeply personal with you: I’m no stranger to the struggles that working people face — because I faced them, too. I grew up as a racial, religious, and ethnic minority kid with 29 letters in my name. I often felt like an outsider because of my identity. I was raised by hardworking immigrant parents, but as hard as they worked, things weren’t always easy. At times, we relied on food assistance and public housing — the very programs that Donald Trump and his GOP extremists are now slashing. I worked at McDonald’s to help afford college, and because of great public education, I went on to graduate from law school and become Illinois' first Indian-American Congressman. None of this came easy. So when I talk about fighting to make America work for working people, it’s personal. But the Trump administration has made cruelty towards hardworking Americans its top priority. They’re slashing programs that give people a helping hand during hard times. They’re going after immigrant families with zero respect for basic dignity. All to serve Trump’s authoritarian agenda — and to make his billionaire buddies even richer. I’ll fight with everything I have to make life easier and fairer for hard-working families. That’s why I’m running for the U.S. Senate. I know we can win this race, flip the Senate Majority, and stand up to Trump’s cruelty — but only if we see continued support from this grassroots team. So I’m respectfully asking: Will you chip in anything you can to send me to the U.S. Senate to be the fighter working families need?
Thank you for your support, Raja Krishnamoorthi
