What YOU can do shouldn't be compared to what everyone else can do.
This is a topic that has been brewing in my head for a while now. The key to feeling satisfied with your day should be knowing that you have done your best, in your situation, at this time in your life.
It should never be compared to what you could do ten years ago, or what the neighbors down the street can do, or what preppers you read about on social media can do. They don't have your body, your financial situation, or your living arrangements.
The same is true in reverse, too. If you are agile, wealthy, and a master gardener, for example, it's rather unfair to look at other folks and wonder why on earth they're not doing what you are doing.
I've hit a new point in my recovery where I'm taking multiple 1/4 mile walks in a day. Initially, I was kind of scoffing because that is not very far. But my daughter pointed out that this time last year, it took me 10 minutes, a mobility aid, and the help of someone else just to get to the car. I decided right then that I should be delighted about the things I can do instead of bemoaning what I can't do. And I think that is the key to living a happy and satisfied life.
