Friend,
We are heartbroken by yet another school shooting — this time in Minneapolis, just as 1.7 million PA children are headed back to school.
Here is what we know so far: The shooting occurred at a Catholic school during Wednesday morning mass. Children from Pre-K through 8th grade were in the pews when a shooter fired a rifle through the stained-glass windows. Two children, just 8 and 10 years old, were killed. Seventeen others were injured.
Back to School should be a time of joy — first-day photos, new friendships, and excitement for the year ahead. Instead, so many of our families are dealing with once-unfathomable fear and anxiety. And that fear is justified: In 2025 alone, there have already been at least 57 shootings at K-12 schools.
Each life lost is someone’s child, someone’s friend, someone’s parent. Every single tragedy deserves our attention and urgent action.
We envision a future free from gun violence where we all have the freedom to go to our jobs and send our kids to school without fear, worship and play without worry, and get to know our neighbors and friends. Friend, if you share our vision, will you become a volunteer today?
