Team,
As a young mother running a small law firm with two other women, I often worked with my child on my hip. I was lucky to be able to do that, but millions of parents can’t.
Today, 14 million parents rely on child care, which costs an average of $11,000 a year and is growing. Those high costs mean many families have to choose between earning a paycheck and caring for their children.
This is personal to me, team. That’s why I’ve: * Cosponsored the Child Care for Working Families Act , which caps costs at 7% of a family’s income and expands access to preschool.
*
* Secured $655 million for PA child care providers through the American Rescue Plan.
*
* Championed permanent investments in affordable, high-quality child care and paid family leave. The fact is, child care isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity, one that is good for parents, kids, and our economy.

Republicans are pushing an agenda that moves us backwards. Instead of investing in families, they’re cutting vital programs like Medicaid, food assistance, and child care support that help families stay afloat.
When parents can’t find affordable care, women are pushed out of the workforce, kids lose opportunities for early learning, and local economies lose productivity. That’s not just bad policy — it’s bad for the future of our country.
I remember juggling motherhood and work and thinking: I was lucky to have options. Many families don’t.
We can make affordable child care and paid family leave the standard — not a luxury reserved for the few. We can give every parent the peace of mind to know their child is safe and cared for while they work. And we can build an economy where families thrive instead of struggle. Are you with me? Do you agree that affordable child care and family care should be a standard, not a privilege? [[link removed]]

In Congress, I’ll never stop fighting for you and your families.
With gratitude,
