People have asked, “What’s different about Trump 2.0?” The answer’s pretty simple — any resistance within the Republican Party to Trump’s authoritarian impulses has evaporated. So when the President sees the writing on the wall for next year’s midterm elections, it might not be too surprising that he’s asked a compliant Republican Party to change the rules wherever possible to give themselves an unfair advantage.
As Republicans in Texas and other states attempt to invalidate the opportunity for voters to make their voices heard, California has responded.
