Dear Jack,
The decision voters make on Proposition 50 is about the Constitution and fairness—not partisan politics. This is not about my re-election.
I will win because our message resonates with voters. In 2016, I won in a district that voted for Hillary Clinton by 11%. Voters want a secure border, less crime, and lower taxes.
This special election is about whether Californians will protect our institutions from partisan power grabs and uphold the Constitution.
The way Democrats drew these new maps and pushed them through the legislature is clearly unconstitutional. You cannot break the Constitution by gerrymandering districts and then ask voters to approve your lawbreaking in a referendum.
It doesn’t make sense.
The Citizens Redistricting Commission has not always favored Republicans. Under its maps, we’ve gone from 14 seats down to 9. But here’s the difference between me and Gavin Newsom: I support the Constitution—even when the outcome doesn’t serve my political interests.
That’s real leadership. And it’s why Americans will never elect Gavin Newsom President. They know he would bring back the failed policies of the Biden–Harris administration: higher taxes, open borders, and more Bidenomics.
Don’t just take my word for it—look at Newsom’s own tweet below:
