Hi  John,

We are offering two exciting virtual workshops next month. Our executive director, Fish Stark, is leading a seminar on running for
office[[link removed]] on September
10[[link removed]]; and our policy director, Rachel Deitch, is conducting a training on how to
effectively influence your elected officials on September 8[[link removed]] and September
11[[link removed]]. See below for more information. I hope you will be able to attend one or both to
increase the political power of our community!

---------

Run For Office Webinar with Fish Stark: September 10th, 2PM EDT (Zoom Register Here[[link removed]]).

We are clear about the secular values we live by. But what if we could build them into the very fabric of our law? Our elected officials get to bring their values to policy making each day, and we need more members of our community among them. The American Humanist Association and the Center for Freethought Equality are looking for the next generation of humanist leaders.

Join our introductory webinar designed to help you determine if running for public office is the right path for you. In this one-hour session, you'll gain a clear understanding of the first steps toward a life in public service.

We will explore:
The unique strengths a secular perspective brings to governance. The spectrum of elected roles available and how to find your fit. Actionable next steps for those who want to run and for those who want to help others win.
This session serves as the introduction to a multi-part training cohort for a select group of aspiring candidates. Join us if you’d like to learn more about what it takes to run for office, and how AHA and CFE can help. (Register
Here[[link removed]])

---------

The Art of Abvocacy Webinar with Rachel Deitch: September 8th, 6PM EDT (Zoom Register Here[[link removed]]) OR September 11th, Noon EDT (Zoom Register
Here[[link removed]]).

Ready to do more to make your voice heard? We're training volunteers to get their hands in the political mud with us to build an advocacy team to advance our policy goals.

This training will equip you with the know-how to speak truth to power—without breaking the rules. You’ll learn exactly how advocacy and lobbying differ, and how to use both to push our values into the halls of power while being 501(c)(3) compliant. We’ll dig into sharp strategies for swaying state and federal leaders, crafting messages that stick, and the logistics of how to have a successful meeting with your elected officials that actually builds influence. You’ll leave with resources, templates, and tips—ready to be a bold, ethical force
for reason, compassion, and human dignity.

Please take advantage of these workshops to build your personal skills and help advance our movement's policy goals.

Sincerely,

Ron Millar
Political & PAC Manager
