The H-2B visa program undercuts workers
In a new article for "The Hill", the vice president of a labor union calls out ways in which the H2B visa program is exploited by the landscaping industry. This program has fostered a harmful situation where American workers are being overlooked and foreign workers are being underpaid. The article points out the following:
"The landscaping industry -- one of the largest H-2B visa users -- don't only exploit non-U.S. workers, they undercut pay and living standards for all workers. According to Department of Labor data, employers saved as much as $3.80 per hour in wages by hiring visa-holders. In fact, the pay rate for visa-holders is about the same as for undocumented workers."
Send this message to your Democratic members of Congress. It's time to reform or entirely stop the H-2B visa program.
