Remembering William H. Neukom (1942-2025)

The World Justice Project was founded on the vision of Bill Neukom. His unwavering belief in the power of the rule of law to create communities of justice, opportunity, and peace shaped our organization and its mission. It is with deep gratitude that we remember his profound humanity, his tireless commitment to justice, and his extraordinary ability to bring people together.

To honor his legacy and carry forward this work, we have established the William H. Neukom Rule of Law Fund. This fund is dedicated to defending the rule of law in three critical areas: countering the rise of authoritarianism, advancing people-centered justice, and expanding environmental rule of law. We invite you to join us in turning Bill's vision into a reality for people worldwide.

World Justice Forum Highlights

Two months ago, the World Justice Forum 2025 concluded, and it was a powerful week for the rule of law. Over 550 participants from more than 80 countries convened in Warsaw, Poland, united by a shared commitment to justice and accountability.

Across three days, WJForum plenaries addressed the most significant threats to the rule of law worldwide, including judicial independence, civic space, media freedom, and democratic backsliding. The sessions also highlighted innovative strategies and success stories from countries and leaders dedicated to defending these fundamental principles.

The Rule of Law Award: Honoring Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. Chief Justice Raymond Zondo of South Africa was honored with the 2025 Rule of Law Award for his fearless leadership of the State Capture Commission and his lifelong defense of judicial independence.
