John, while millions in Florida and across the south prepare for the peak of hurricane season, here’s what Donald Trump is doing:
- ❌Cutting the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) pre-disaster mitigation program
- ❌Appointing a MAGA loyalist to lead FEMA – someone who just denied $150 million in grants meant to upgrade Florida’s flood prevention infrastructure
- ❌Planning to eliminate FEMA entirely after this hurricane season – leaving disaster-stricken communities without any federal assistance.
FEMA has the power to save lives, and help communities rebuild when the worst happens. But Trump doesn’t give a damn about helping people in need.
That’s why he’s trying to rip this aid away for good, and he’s going to use those dollars to help fund tax cuts for corporations and his billionaire friends.
Trump may try to kick us while we’re down, but I’m committed to standing up. For all of us.
As long as I’m in Congress, I’ll always fight for our people who are getting left behind by this administration, and I’ll do everything I can to right their wrongs. But I can’t stay in this seat without your support.
