Our nation's public lands are under threat by the Trump administration. Our pristine waterways. Our soaring forests. Our sprawling deserts. The places that provide habitat for rare flora and fauna, clean water sources for cities and towns, and opportunities for outdoor recreation are all at risk.

But, it doesn't have to be this way. LCV just launched a series of events to push back on the sell-off of our public lands. We’re demanding that our national parks, monuments, and other waterways remain protected.

In Colorado, Maine, Michigan, Oregon, California, and Maryland, we’re working alongside local leaders, community members, and members of congress to fight for public lands across the nation. We’re organizing hikes, campouts, demonstrations, and more to call attention to the Trump administration’s dangerous plans.

Our goal is simple: KEEP PUBLIC LANDS IN PUBLIC HANDS.

TIMING IS CRITICAL. Congress is about to return to Washington, D.C. — and is set to take major votes that will decide funding levels for forest and park rangers and other key staff who steward our public lands. We have to raise the pressure while there’s still time.

We’re going places where people connect with nature and with each other. Places where people hike, fish, camp, kayak, and stargaze. Places where wildlife make their homes and where millions of people get their drinking water. Places that are in severe jeopardy if the Trump administration succeeds at selling them off.

The Trump administration’s efforts to rollback protections for public lands are staggering:

  • On Trump’s first day in office, he signed several executive orders declaring a false national “energy emergency,” and called for more oil and gas leasing on public lands, including in Alaska’s vulnerable Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

  • He’s on a mission to rescind national monuments, especially ones recently created or expanded, like California’s Chuckwalla and Utah’s Bears Ears.

  • He’s fired thousands of staff members in the Department of the Interior and installed anti-conservation extremists to allow destructive commercial logging in national forests and roll back critical clean water safeguards.

That’s why our campaign is so important, Friend.

With hope,
